Distance vision blurry? Slow Myopia progression by 59%.
Myopia is an eye condition which causes distant objects to appear blurry, but also increases risk of a broader eye and health issues like retinal detachment and blindness.
As the eye grows, especially during childhood, the retinal tissue has to stretch, and more myopia can develop. In terms of risk, a -7.00 myopia has over a 44 times higher risk of developing a retinal detachment compared to someone who has normal vision.
What can we do about it?
We offer two exciting Health Canada approved contact lens options that can control the progression of myopia: Ortho-keratology and MiSight. We can’t stop Myopia completely in all cases; but, studies show a slowing of progression by 59%.
